AurCrest Gold (TSX-V: AGO) is a mineral exploration company focused on the acquisition, exploration, and development of gold properties. AurCrest has a portfolio of properties in Ontario, which include the Richardson Lake and Bridget Lake gold properties.
RICHARDSON LAKE
Richardson Lake is a gold exploration prospect located in the Birch-Uchi belt of the Red Lake mining division and consists of 2 blocks of unpatented mineral claims called the Richardson Lake and Swain Lake properties totalling 27,960 acres.
The first block consists of the original 6 claims that make up the Richardson Lake Property optioned from Perry English in 2002, which the Company now owns 100%. An additional 2 claims were staked by the Company in early 2010, plus 23 claims staked in early 2011. The total area of the property is now approximately 14,520 acres. The second block consists of 13,440 acres in 26 claims staked in late 2010, being defined as the Swain Lake Property, located in the centre of the Birch Lake greenstone belt approximately 15 km south-west of the Richardson Lake Property.
BRIDGET LAKE
AurCrest has signed a final joint venture agreement in respect of the Bridget Lake Property in the prolific Red Lake area of Ontario. Halo Resources has acquired a 65% interest (from AurCrest) in the 9 claim units (144 hectares) situated in Ball Township, Red Lake Mining Division. Halo will be operator of the joint venture and Red Lake Gold Mines (a partnership of Goldcorp Inc. and Goldcorp Canada Ltd.) has acquired a 40% interest in Halo's interest in the Property.
The joint venture partners have initiated a 2012 drill program on The Bridget Lake Property. The 2010 winter drill program intersected 7.1 g/t gold over 5.8 meters (Hole RL08-009) which occurs between two known zones of visible gold mineralization associated with narrow quartz veins on the shores of Bridget Lake.
